How to Tick a Beer

Instructions

  1. Choose the brewery name - As you type you'll be able to choose from the brewery names already in our database, or you may enter a new brewery name. You can use your mouse or the keyboard to choose from one of the options, if the brewery name already exists.
  2. Choose the beer name - As you type you'll be able to choose from the beer names already in our database, or you may enter a new beer name. You can use your mouse or the keyboard to choose from one of the options if the beer name already exists.
  3. Pick the location where the beer was ticked (i.e. brewery, home, out) - Points in the Beer Ticking Challenge are scored in part by the location of the tick.
  4. Pick the serving type (i.e. draft, bottle or growler) - Points in the Beer Ticking Challenge are also scored in part by the serving type you're ticking.
  5. Select Your Rating - Choose the rating that best reflects your opinion of the beer.
  6. Type some notes - Keep notes on the beers you've ticked to remind yourself about the appearance [color, head, bubbliness], the aroma, the mouth feel, the pour, and, of course, the taste.
  7. Save your Tick

How to Start a Challenge

Instructions

  1. Name your challenge - Give your challenge a name. Choose something that you and your friends will identify with.
  2. Make the challenge public or private - Public challenges are available for any member on BeerTickingChallenge.com to view. Private challenges will only be seen by those in the challenge.
  3. Choose a start and end date - All good things must come to an end, but you have to pick a start, too. We've got some recommendations for you to pick from, but you may also set your own start and end times.
  4. Add current friends - You need to invite others (at least one other) to challenge. They must be in the Beer Ticking Challenge system in order to join your challenge.
  5. Add other admins (optional) - If you have other friends you want to let invite challengers or to take care of the challenge while you're unavailable, you may add them with the checkboxes.
  6. Save your challenge
